When corruption has systematically infected and distorted the institutional structures and processes of the government, in particular the law enforcement mechanisms, implementing anticorruption laws is expected to be suboptimal and subsequently fail. To overcome this problem, the factors contributing to the policy implementation failure must be eliminated.

This is the best book I have found on modifying cylinder heads

This is the best book I have found on modifying cylinder heads. There is a reason it is recommend by everyone from the classic car guy, hot rodder and even the import crowd. The tool section is a little dated as there are a lot more options now days and many kits that can be bought but the basics of the needed tools and their us is well covered. The books goes through the practice of modifying heads including lots of examples for valve enshrouding, improving ports and combustion chambers, even covers valve cutting methods. Lots of great knowledge that can help you to talk with the machine shop or provide a practical guide for modifying your own heads. Would highly recommend it to others.

I bought this book after doing family history research while on my current deployment overseas. I'd found out that John W. Cotton served in the same Alabama Calvary Company, and from the same Alabama county, Coosa County as my own Great Great Great Grandfather and after readnig the book I found them both to be good friends and Mr. Cotton mentions my Grandfather numerous times in his letters to his wife. I can't even describe in words what this book means to me, and if your a Civil War buff I'm sure that you will enjoy it as well. You get a view of the war from a different perspective, not just from some printed textbook that forces you to come to a fixed conclusion about the war, but about the loneliness and isolation of the proud soldier, a son of Alabama, a common man believing in what he was fighting for til the end.

Interesting insight to a Southern farmer's life while away in the army. A beneficial aide to pulling together more of the history of this company and the regiment to which it belonged. A bit dissappointing as it did not provide more, none the less, a valued work as there are so few in existent. Would be mostly valued by those researching the 10th Confederate Cavalry.

empowering chemistry textbook

This chemistry textbook is superior because it explains not only chemistry concepts but detailed steps of the math you need to know. The examples and problems are not only designed to teach the math but to educate you about chemistry by experience, i.e., the different elements and compounds and their properties. This chemistry book was written to perform a service, with the student in the forefront of the writer's mind.

Great presentation, wish there were more examples worked out

This textbook is very clear in presenting topics, breaking down chapters into sections, and focusing on core concepts. The figures in the book are high quality, and 3D graphics are helpful in illustrating complex shapes.

My only desire would be for more solved problems in the chapters.

Nice content and charts! Chapter questions worded confusing!

This book contains excellent charts and content, no space is wasted in this book when it comes to the lessons. The tables and charts have information presented in a comprehensive way which can be transformed into smooth studying. One thing I did not like about this book was the chapter questions, a lot were worded in a confusing way. They used words that they didn't use in the chapter, I found myself going to the teacher many times to have the questions reworded. I would recommend this book only if based on information because the questions aren't very good for reviewing the content.

About the Author

Kenneth Morgan is Professor of History at Brunel University, London, where he is Deputy Director of the Centre for American, Caribbean and Transatlantic History, and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He has published widely in the social and economic history of Britain and her colonies, and in music history. His most recent book, Fritz Reiner, Maestro and Martinet won a 2006 Deems Taylor Prize from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
