Great case formulation guide!

Well-organized, readable and practical, I find this to be an indispensable case formulation book. Even if your primary orientation is not CBT, I believe most therapists and therapists-in-training will find Persons' guide to case formulation helpful for thinking efficiently yet flexibly about their patients, especially when most people who seek help are so complex that it can be difficult to figure out where to begin!

Eric Haney does an excellent job portraying the founding of this unit, without violating operational security. He is remarkably humble compared to many others in the SpecOps community who have bothered to write books. I read this very quickly, as I was unable to put it down. This Book Will Redline Your Capacity for Inspiration

I read this book when I was in Iraq with the 10th Mountain Division in 2007. I was hooked so hard and fast that I found myself neglecting personal duties I would have otherwise performed religiously.

The craft of elite proficiency described in the pages led me to become so inspired that I became a better soldier and non-commissioned officer. The motivation Mr. Haney inspired through his actions was incredible and, although I fell under the stop-loss policy, I performed far better and began planning to become a special operations soldier.

Almost a decade later, this book still remains one of my all time favorites and I refer aspiring service members to it every chance I get. SGM Haney is truly a legend of the old school special operations units when they were first budding into a force adapted to fit terrorism. I love this read! Absolutely amazing book.

This is a dinky little pamphlet of a book based on a speech Albert E.N. Gray gave to a group of Prudential life insurance agents back in 1940.

I hesitated to do a Note on it for a while because it’s so short (this Note will be about as long as the “book”) but it’s so packed with goodness that I figured we’d have fun unpacking the wisdom.

(Plus, I got such great feedback on Courage Under Fire by James Stockdale—which was another super short speech-book I almost didn’t create a Note on—so here we are. And... While we’re on the topic, James Allen’s As a Man Thinketh falls under the super-short-but-awesome category as well as do Wallace D. Wattles’s Science of Being Great + Science of Getting Rich! :)

Word for word the most valuable book you'll ever own

The common denominator on its own is five stars... However... This edition... well, it has these quotes on the side that honestly bother me. I rather just have the essay and that is it, and here's why:
Quotes are only worth to a person when they are learned through a long journey. For example, reading a long book that takes you days or even weeks to complete— and when you are done with it and you very familiar with the author's personality, story and writing style—then, and only then, you look back and say: “you know what? I like what he said here” at this point it will stick to you, you will remember that quote for a very long time because you have associated it (linked it) with the many hours you spent reading the book.
On the other hand, if you are given 34 quotes (and this book has that many, plus one on the cover)... well I can tell you, I just read it and I barely remember one or two and if you ask me tomorrow I won’t remember any. So this takes it down to four stars, I wish it didn't have those annoying quotes; I rather come across those quotes through further reading so I can truly remember them and apply them to my life.
Now, it also has this list of books in the back... not impressed. A lot of the books in the list are more of a "personality ethic", and there are so many better titles that are of a "character ethic" (Stephen Covey's terms). Not all of them, and in fact I have added a few to my "to-read" list but as I said... Not impressed... 3 stars…

I highly recommend this small book to anyone who has chosen to excel in life. I have purchased several copies and given them out to friends, business acquaintances, family members, clients... I have my personal copy that I read at least once a twice a month. Love this book. Just starting to read it and it is full of good basic info. Easy to understand. and very helpful now that I have some experience with Nerve Conductions. Looking forward to learning lots more!

Good for novices

This minibook is good for beginners and it is also a small quick reference in EMG room for placements of the electrodes and normal values.However, it is very brief and will not give an extensive thorough explanation. I recommend it for beginners and technicians working in EMG room.
